General Terms and Conditions for participation in events/parties in Coop restaurants. Events: Events that are organized by Coop and can, in principle, be attended by anyone. Parties: personalized events that are, in principle, private gatherings.

1. General

The organizer of parties and events at Coop restaurants is the Coop Cooperative, Thiersteinerallee 12, 4053 Basel, (hereinafter referred to as Coop). These General Terms and Conditions govern the comprehensive terms and conditions between the Coop Cooperative and the participant in a party or an event.

 

2. Offering

Coop offers parties and events in many of its restaurants throughout Switzerland. The offerings may vary depending on the time of year and restaurant. No guarantee is given that a party or event can be held in a specific restaurant. An overview of the current offers can be downloaded from the website www.coop-restaurant.ch.

 

3. Bookings

3.1.      Bookings for a party or an event are accepted via the website www.coop-restaurant.ch.

3.2.      By registering a child, the participant confirms that they have parental responsibility for the child named on the booking form or that they have the consent of the persons who have parental responsibility to register the child and disclose the child's details (in particular, name and date of birth).

3.3.      After submitting the online booking form, the participant immediately receives an email confirming the reservation.

 

4. Right of withdrawal from parties

4.1.      Coop has the right to cancel the party up to the 14th day prior to the date on which the party is due to take place, without stating reasons. Cancellation by Coop after the 14th day prior to the party date is possible only due to force majeure, weather or natural conditions, official measures or security risks.

4.2.      The participant has the right to cancel the booked party up to the 14th day prior to the date on which the party is due to take place, without incurring charges. Coop must receive the written notice of cancellation by the 14th day prior to the party date.

4.3.      If the party cannot take place because the participant does not turn up on the party date or the written cancellation is received by Coop after the 14th day prior to the party date, the participant will be charged the full costs of the party. The party costs are based on the price published on the website at the time of booking.

 

5. Right of withdrawal from events

5.1.      Coop has the right to cancel the event up to the 14th day prior to the date on which the event is due to take place, without stating reasons. Coop has the right to cancel the event up to the 2nd day prior to the date on which the event is due to take place due to the minimum number of participants not being reached. Cancellation by Coop after the 2nd day prior to the event date is possible only due to force majeure, weather or natural conditions, official measures or security risks.

5.2.      The participant has the right to cancel the booked event up to the 3rd day prior to the date on which the event is due to take place, without incurring charges. Coop must receive the written notice of cancellation by the 3rd day prior to the event date.

5.3.      If the participant does not turn up on the event date or the written cancellation is received by Coop after the 3rd day prior to the event date, the participant will be charged the full costs of the event. The event costs are based on the price published on the website at the time of booking.

 

6. Payment

6.1.      Payment for a party or an event is made on the day the party or event is held, at the till in the Coop Restaurant hosting it. The price for the party or event is based on the price published on the website at the time of booking.

6.2.      Any vouchers, discount vouchers and the like must be presented at the time of payment. We are unable to offer you a subsequent reduction.

 

7. Liability and insurance

7.1.      By making a booking, the participant confirms that the registered children have illness, accident and liability insurance.

7.2.      If a registered child suffers harm during a party or an event, Coop is liable for direct damages only in cases of intent and gross negligence.

 

8. Data protection

8.1.      The Coop Cooperative’s Privacy policy applies to all visits to the website www.coop-restaurant.ch.

8.2.      The participant’s data may be used for personalized advertising. When creating profiles, target groups of participants with similar customer profiles may be formed and combined, based on recognized mathematical and statistical procedures and logic.

8.3.      Each participant can opt out of electronic and postal advertising from Coop restaurants by sending an email to Coop restaurants (gastronomiehs@coop.ch) to that effect. Such opt-out applies only to advertising in connection with Coop restaurants and not to advertising from the Coop Group per se.

 

9. Final provisions

9.1.      These General Terms and Conditions may be modified at any time, subject to a one-month transitional period. The future version will always be published on the Internet at www.coop-restaurant.ch.

9.2.      These General Terms and Conditions shall be governed solely by Swiss law, excluding any conflicts of law provisions. The sole place of jurisdiction for any disputes arising from or in connection with these General Terms and Conditions shall be Basel-Stadt.
